• Water treatment - Filter, tablets or a boil plan for backcountry water sources. Find on Amazon →
• Know the fire and wild-camping rules - Legal in some countries, banned in others; never light fires in a drought.
• Leave no trace - Pack out all rubbish and camp only where it is allowed.
