What to pack, by what you'll do

Trips go wrong on the small stuff - the wrong shoes for the trail, no repellent in the rainforest, bare shoulders at a temple door. These are plain, no-nonsense checklists grouped by what you'll actually do, so you can pull the two or three that fit your trip.

Some links on this page are Amazon affiliate links - if you buy through them we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. We only list the kind of gear we would pack ourselves. Every place page also shows the handful of kits that fit that spot.
