Wormeldange

Wormeldange is generally regarded as the heart of Luxembourg Riesling, with the Koeppchen slope above the village producing the country's most highly rated wines from that grape on steep south-facing ground. A chapel stands at the top of the slope, reached by a path through the vines. Family estates and the cooperative both take visitors for tasting.

When to go
May to October is the season, with harvest in September and October. Tastings should be arranged with the smaller estates. Autumn colour on the slopes is good.

Smaller estates need an appointment rather than walk-in visits. The village is small with limited facilities. The vineyard path is steep.
