Hog Island sits off Grenada's south coast, joined to the mainland by a causeway, and it has stayed almost entirely undeveloped, with a beach on the southern side, scrub across the interior and a single beach bar that opens on Sundays and draws the yachting crowd anchored in the bays around. The anchorage here is one of the best hurricane holes in the southern Caribbean.

When to go
December to May is the dry season. Sundays are when the bar runs and boats gather. Hurricane season runs June to November.
Honest expectations
There are no facilities beyond the one bar and it does not open every day. The beach is small and can be busy on Sundays. The causeway road is rough.
