EntrySmall fee at the first fall

Three falls sit in the Concord valley on Grenada's west side. The first is right at the end of the road with a viewing platform and a pool below it, which makes it the one most people see. Au Coin is a walk of around forty five minutes upstream, and Fontainebleau is further still and needs a guide. The valley is planted with nutmeg and cocoa and the walk goes through working ground.

What you actually see

  • The first fall - at the road end with a platform and pool.
  • Au Coin - the middle fall, around forty five minutes upstream.
  • Fontainebleau - the highest fall, needing a guide to reach.
  • The plantations - nutmeg and cocoa the path passes through.

When to go

January to May is drier and the upstream walk is easier. Flow is strongest in the wet season. The river rises quickly after heavy rain.

Honest expectations

The first fall is crowded when ships are in and vendors are persistent. The upper walks are muddy with river crossings. Guides at the trailhead vary in quality and price should be agreed first.

Nearby

Gouyave is north, and St George's is south.
