Tufton Hall Waterfall

Tufton Hall is the hardest waterfall on Grenada to reach and by most accounts the highest, set deep in the northwestern interior with no path to it, so the route follows the river bed upstream with repeated crossings, wading and some scrambling over boulders. The whole trip takes most of a day. A guide is not optional. The reward is a tall fall in forest with almost nobody else there.

• The interior forest - the northwestern woodland the river runs through.

When to go

January to May is the dry season and the only sensible window. Wet season flow makes the river route dangerous. Rain upstream raises the water quickly at any time.

Before you go

This is a hard full-day trip with constant wading and no path, and it is not for casual walkers. A guide is mandatory and must be arranged in Victoria. The river rises fast and trips are called off without notice.
