Pic de Casamanya

Casamanya rises to 2,740 metres between the Ordino and Canillo valleys, and because it stands in the middle of the country rather than on the border ridge, the view from the top takes in nearly all of Andorra at once: the valleys running out in several directions, the border peaks around the edge and the towns in the bottoms. The trail starts high, at the Coll d'Ordino, which makes the climb shorter than the height suggests.

When to go

June to October is the walking season. Snow makes the ridge dangerous outside it. Mornings are clearest before cloud builds.

Honest expectations

The ridge is exposed and the final section is loose. Weather changes fast and cloud closes the view. There is no water on the route.
