Kpalimé and Mount Agou

In the lush, forested hills of southwestern Togo lies the country's most beautiful natural region, centred on the pleasant town of Kpalimé. A cool, green highland escape from the coastal heat, it is a landscape of rolling hills cloaked in tropical forest, coffee and cocoa plantations, tumbling waterfalls like the Cascade de Womé, and an abundance of butterflies and birds that draws nature lovers. When to go

November to February, the drier season, for the best hiking and weather, though the region is green and lush year-round and the waterfalls fullest after rain; the cooler highland climate is a refreshing contrast to the coast.
