Cascade de Kpimé

The Kpimé cascade drops a considerable distance down a rock face north of Kpalimé and would be the most impressive fall in Togo except that a hydroelectric scheme upstream takes most of the water, so for much of the year there is a wet streak on the rock rather than a waterfall. When the plant releases or the rains are heavy it runs properly. The village below collects a fee either way.

When to go

July to October is the wet season and the only time it reliably runs. The dry season leaves almost nothing. Flow also depends on the hydro operation.

Good to know

For most of the year there is very little water and visitors are frequently disappointed. A village fee is collected regardless of flow. Guides expect payment on top.
