Soderasen protects the largest continuous broadleaf forest in Northern Europe, draped over a rift-valley landscape of beech woods, boulder-strewn streams and steep slopes in the heart of Skane. Its signature is the Kopparhatten viewpoint, looking out over the wooded valley, especially glorious in autumn.

When to go
May for the fresh green of the beech leaves; October for the autumn colour that makes the viewpoint famous. Summer is shady and cool under the canopy.

It is a forest park of gentle beauty rather than dramatic peaks, so the reward is the woods and the valley view. The trails include some steep, rocky climbs. It is at its most spectacular in the short autumn colour window.
