EntryTicketed

Rockland Estate is built on the slope of Sentry Hill above Cul de Sac, with a chairlift up to the ridge, a set of ziplines coming back down, a rollercoaster-style ride on rails and a line called the Flying Dutchman that is billed as the steepest zipline in the world. The old plantation buildings at the base have been kept and there are views over the island from the top.

What you actually see

  • The chairlift - the ride up the slope to the ridge.
  • The Flying Dutchman - the line billed as the steepest anywhere.
  • The ridge view - the outlook over the island from the top.
  • The estate buildings - the plantation structures kept at the base.

When to go

December to April is the dry high season and the busiest. Cruise ship days fill it. Rides close in high wind.

Honest expectations

It is expensive and prices add up quickly if you take several rides. Cruise days mean queues. Rides close in wind or rain and there is no guarantee on the day.

Nearby

Philipsburg is south, and the Great Salt Pond is southwest.
