Getting thereOn the east coast beyond Guana Bay; rough walking track, no road
EntryFree

Beyond Guana Bay on the east coast the shoreline turns rough and empty, and out along it at Geneve Bay a pool sits in the rock platform, filled and cleared by the sea coming over the edge, deep enough to get into when the swell is down. There is no road: you walk out along the coast from Guana Bay over rock and scrub, which takes about an hour.

What you actually see

  • The rock pool - the basin in the platform filled by the sea.
  • The empty coast - shoreline with nothing built along it.
  • The walk out - an hour over rock and scrub from Guana Bay.
  • The eastern exposure - the windward side taking the Atlantic swell.

When to go

December to April is the dry season. The pool is only usable when the swell is down. Mornings are cooler for the walk.

Honest expectations

This is dangerous when the swell is running: waves come over the platform and people have been swept off rocks like these. The walk is rough with no shade or water. Go with someone who knows the coast.

Nearby

Guana Bay is west, and Dawn Beach is south.
