Little Bay lies just west of Philipsburg in a sheltered curve below the headland Fort Amsterdam stands on, with calm water, a hotel strip along the back and a path leading up toward the fort from the end of the beach. It is one of the closest beaches to the capital that is not the Philipsburg waterfront itself, and the water is generally flat enough for easy swimming. The bay sits on the peninsula that closes the western side of the Philipsburg harbour.

When to go
December to April is the dry high season. June to November is the hurricane season. Cruise ship days bring more people.
Honest expectations
Much of the back of the beach is hotel property and the public access points are limited. It gets busy when ships are in. Facilities beyond the hotels are few.
