Fuipisia Falls

Fuipisia drops around fifty five metres on the southeastern side of Upolu, and what distinguishes it from the other falls on this road is that a short walk through plantation and forest reaches the lip, where the river runs over the edge and the drop opens directly below. The land is village owned and a fee is collected at the road. There is no path to the base, and the pool at the top is shallow.

What you actually see

• The upper river - the shallow water running over the flat rock above.

When to go

May to October is the drier season with safer footing. Rain makes the rock at the lip dangerous. The wet season gives more water.

Honest expectations

The rock at the lip is slippery and unfenced with a very long drop; this needs care. There is no route to the base. Facilities are a hut where the fee is collected.
