Luengoni is a curve of very white sand on Lifou's southeastern coast, enclosed by limestone points with clear shallow water inside, and behind it the coral platform is riddled with caves, one of which holds a freshwater pool that can be swum in and is reached by climbing down through the rock with a guide from the village. The beach is on customary land and the community collects a fee and provides guiding.

When to go
April to November is the dry cooler season. Cruise days bring numbers to the Lifou beaches. Cyclone season runs November to April.

The beach is on customary land and a fee is expected. Cave access requires a village guide and cannot be done alone. Facilities are minimal.
