Magens Bay

Magens Bay curves its heart-shaped mile into St Thomas's north side - the territory's most famous beach by settled consensus, a protected arc where the water calms to lake temperament, the sand runs generous even on cruise days, and the palm-and-seagrape grove behind (a philanthropic gift to the public in the 1940s) keeps the picnic shade civic. The overlook on the ridge road frames the postcard before descent, paddleboards work the flat, and the arboretum trail adds a green half-hour behind the grove. It is the classic for honest reasons - scale, shelter and that ridge-top first sight.
