EntryFree; boat charged

Rendezvous Bay at the northern tip is the only white-sand beach on Montserrat, every other one being the dark volcanic sand the island is made of, and it is white because the sand here comes from the reef rather than the rock. There is no road to it. You come by boat from Little Bay, by kayak, or over the hill on a steep path that takes around forty minutes each way.

What you actually see

  • The white sand - beach material from reef rather than volcanic rock.
  • The no-road access - a bay reached only by boat or on foot.
  • The snorkelling - reef at the ends of the bay.
  • The hill path - the steep crossing from Little Bay.

When to go

December to April is the dry season. Boats depend on sea conditions. The hill walk is hot and best done early.

Honest expectations

There are no facilities of any kind: no shade structure, no water, nothing. The hill path is steep and rough in both directions. Boat trips must be arranged from Little Bay in advance.

Nearby

Little Bay is south, and Silver Hills is inland.
