Fond-de-Gras was a junction of the ore railways in the Minett field, and the valley has been kept as an industrial heritage park: a steam railway runs from here to Pétange, a narrow-gauge mine train, Minièresbunn, runs through an old gallery to Doihl, and the mining village of Lasauvage, an old grocery and workshops complete the site. Everything operates on summer Sundays and holidays rather than continuously.

When to go
May to September is the operating season, mainly on Sundays and public holidays. Trains do not run outside those days. Timetables should be checked.
Honest expectations
The site operates on limited days, mainly summer Sundays, and turning up otherwise finds it closed. Train services run to a timetable and can be full. The mine train is cool and requires a jacket.
