Gjeravica rises to 2,656 metres in the Accursed Mountains and is the highest point in Kosovo, a rocky summit above a set of glacial lakes in cirques below it. The climb goes up from the Erenik valley through pasture and then over boulder ground to the ridge. Snow lies on the northern side into early summer. From the top the border ranges of Albania and Montenegro run away west and north.

When to go
June to September is the climbing season. Snow lies into early summer on the north side. Storms build on the ridge in the afternoon.
Honest expectations
The approach track needs four wheel drive and the climb is long with loose rock. Weather changes fast at this altitude. Marking is poor and a guide or good navigation matters.
