Boge sits at around 1,300 metres above the Rugova canyon west of Peja, a village of wooden houses that has become the base for the western mountains: a small ski area with a lift and a few runs in winter, and walking, climbing and the via ferrata routes in summer. The Peaks of the Balkans trail passes nearby. Pasture and beech forest surround the settlement.

When to go
December to March is the ski season, snow permitting. June to September is the walking season. The shoulder months are quiet and many places close.
Honest expectations
The ski area is very small with limited lifts and unreliable snow. Accommodation is guesthouses and books up in season. The road up is narrow and can be closed by snow.
