Eric Young spent decades building an orchid collection on Jersey and left it in trust with purpose-built glasshouses at Victoria Village, and the foundation has continued to breed and show, taking a long run of medals at Chelsea. Several thousand plants are held across a set of climate-controlled houses, with a display house rotated so that whatever is flowering is what visitors see. Slipper orchids and cymbidiums are particular strengths.

When to go
February to May is the peak flowering period. The foundation opens only on certain days of the week. It closes for parts of the year.
Honest expectations
Opening is limited to a few days a week and closes for periods. Only the display house is open; the growing houses are not. It is small and an hour covers it.
