Cocos Island sits on the barrier reef off Guam's southern end, a low sand and coconut island about a kilometre and a half long with the lagoon on one side and the open Pacific on the other, run as a day resort with a beach, watersports and a restaurant. The lagoon crossing from Merizo takes around fifteen minutes. The reef around the island is a marine preserve. The island is part of Merizo village rather than a separate municipality, and the lagoon between them is one of the largest on Guam.

When to go
December to June is the drier season. Boats run through the day and stop mid-afternoon. Typhoon season runs July to November.
Honest expectations
It is a resort operation and everything is charged. The island can be crowded when tour groups arrive. Boats stop running in the afternoon.
