Martin Point sits on the north coast a short way west of Flying Fish Cove, a headland where the land ends abruptly and the sea floor drops away just offshore, which is why whale sharks and larger pelagic fish come close in here. There is a lookout above the water and a track along the top. The sunsets from this side of the island are the ones people come out for.

When to go
May to November is the dry season. Whale sharks are most likely between November and April. Evenings draw people for the sunset.
Honest expectations
The cliff edge is unfenced and the rock is sharp limestone. Whale shark sightings are a matter of luck and cannot be planned around. There are no facilities.
