Store Bay

Store Bay is a short curve of sand at Crown Point, a few minutes from the airport terminal, and it is the free alternative to Pigeon Point next door. It has a lifeguard, changing facilities, craft stalls, and a row of food huts behind the beach where a handful of cooks have been serving crab and dumpling, curry and roti for decades, with a following that is as much local as visitor. When to go

January to May is driest. Lunchtime is when the food huts are busiest and best. Cruise days crowd the beach and the boats.

Honest expectations

The beach is small and gets crowded. Aircraft pass low overhead on approach to the runway alongside. Boat touts on the sand are persistent.
