Dairy Farm Nature Park

Dairy Farm takes its name from a cattle farm that supplied Singapore's milk from the 1930s to the 1970s, and the site was also quarried for granite, leaving a pit that has flooded into a green pool. The Wallace Trail runs through the park, named for Alfred Russel Wallace and interpreted with his observations, and the Wallace Education Centre occupies the old cowshed. Trails link into Bukit Timah and Singapore Quarry. The quarry itself is fenced and viewed from a platform above, not entered. The wallace education centre at the entrance is named for Alfred Russel Wallace, who collected specimens in this part of the island in the 1850s.

Year round; early morning is coolest. Afternoon storms are frequent. Weekends are crowded on the Bukit Timah link.

Honest expectations

The quarry is viewed from a deck and swimming is prohibited. The education centre keeps limited hours. Macaques along the trails take food.
