The Copolia trail climbs from the Sans Soucis road through forest to a bare granite dome at around 490 metres, taking forty five minutes or so, and the top gives the clearest view of Victoria, the Sainte Anne islands and the eastern coast of Mahé. The upper section passes through vegetation growing on bare rock, including pitcher plants, which are endemic here and grow along the path in the last stretch.
What you actually see

- The pitcher plants - the endemic carnivorous plants on the upper slabs.
- The forest section - the climb through woodland before the rock opens out.
When to go
April to October is drier with the clearest views. Mornings are best before cloud builds. Rain makes the granite dangerous.
Honest expectations
The final slabs are steep and dangerously slippery when wet. There is a trail fee collected at the start. Cloud frequently closes the view at the top.
