Praia Micondó lies on São Tomé's southwestern coast, a curve of sand with forest coming down almost to the back of it and a stream running out across one end, and it is one of the emptier beaches on an island that has a lot of them. Turtles nest along this stretch in season. There is little development beyond a track and a fee post, which is the reason to come rather than a drawback.

When to go
