Belle Rivière

Belle Rivière runs down through Langlade to the eastern shore, and along it stand the plain wooden cabins that families from Saint-Pierre keep for the summer, going over by boat when the season turns and staying until autumn. There is no mains power out here. The valley is wooded, the river is small and clear, and the whole arrangement is one of the things that makes Langlade what it is.

When to go

June to September is the season the cabins are used. The valley is empty the rest of the year. Fog is common through the summer.

Honest expectations

The cabins are private homes and the valley is not a public attraction; visitors should keep to the tracks. Getting to Langlade needs a boat or the road down the dune. There are no services of any kind.
