Mochong on Rota's northern coast is one of the largest ancient Chamorro village sites in the Marianas, with numerous latte stone sets standing or fallen across the ground along the shore, along with pottery scatters and burial areas. It was occupied for centuries before European contact. Vegetation has grown over much of it and the site is unfenced, which makes a guide worth having.

When to go
December to June is the drier season and the vegetation is lower. The track in is worse after rain. Morning light is best on the stones.

The site is overgrown and unfenced and the latte take finding; a guide helps. It is a burial site and material must not be moved. The track in is rough.
