Landhuis Knip

Landhuis Kenepa stands on the hill above Grote Knip, a restored eighteenth-century plantation house that is now a museum, and its significance is what happened there in August 1795, when the enslaved people of the estate refused to work and the uprising led by Tula spread across the western half of the island before it was put down. The house presents that history alongside rooms furnished to the period and a display on plantation life.
