Playa Jeremi

Playa Jeremi is a small cove in an amphitheatre of low cliffs on the leeward coast, reached down a rough track, and it has nothing at all on it: no bar, no shade huts, no toilets, no attendant. The sand is mixed with pebble and the water is clear with coral along the edges. It is where people go when the well-known beaches are full, and on a weekday morning there is a fair chance of having it entirely to yourself.

What you actually see

• The cliff amphitheatre - low walls enclosing the cove on three sides.
• The clear water - coral along both edges within easy snorkelling reach.
• The emptiness - no bar, shade or facilities of any kind.
• The rough track - the unsurfaced approach that keeps numbers down.

When to go

Year round; weekday mornings are quietest. Weekends bring local groups. Shade disappears entirely by midday.

Honest expectations

There is no shade, water or toilet, so everything must be brought in. The track is rough and low cars struggle. The sand is coarse and pebbly underfoot.
