Boka Sami

Boka Sami is the bay at Sint Michiel where the local fishing fleet works, with brightly painted boats moored off the shore, stalls selling the catch on the waterfront and a set of small bars and eateries along it. It faces west, which makes the evening the time to be there, and it is close enough to Willemstad to be an easy trip. This is a working village rather than a resort, and the mix is exactly the appeal.

When to go

This is a working village and it is not tidied for visitors. Facilities are basic and English is less common than elsewhere. The area around has a mixed reputation after dark.
