Myrafalle

The Myrabach drops about seventy metres in a series of falls and cascades over some six hundred metres of gorge above Muggendorf, and a path of nineteen wooden bridges, stairs and galleries was opened through it in 1885 so it could be walked - up one side, crossing the water repeatedly, past the individual falls, and back down the other. The whole circuit takes about an hour and is one of the standard outings from Vienna, an hour or so away, particularly with children. The gorge is protected as a natural monument. Above the falls an old pilgrim route continues towards Mariazell past the Unterberg hut.

Good to know

Can close in winter and after storms. Boards are slippery. It is short - an hour covers it.
