Hon Chong Rocks

Hon Chong is a group of granite boulders piled at the northern end of the Nha Trang shore, one balanced on another in a way that looks precarious and is not, with the sea washing between them. On the upper boulder is a set of five depressions that folklore reads as the handprint of a giant who slipped while watching fairies bathe - the story is the standard one told to visitors, and the marks are natural weathering. The point gives a view along the bay to the islands and back to the city, and the Po Nagar Cham towers are a short distance south across the river.

What to expect

It is small and takes twenty minutes. Entry is charged for what is essentially a viewpoint. The rocks are slippery and the sea comes up. It is usually combined with the Po Nagar towers nearby.
