The Golden Bridge is one of Vietnam's most photographed modern sights, a gleaming golden pedestrian walkway that curves through the mountain air near Da Nang, appearing to be held aloft by two colossal, weathered stone hands. Opened in 2018, it became an instant global sensation, and sits within Ba Na Hills, a French-themed mountain resort reached by one of the world's longest cable cars, with gardens, a fantasy village and sweeping views.

What you actually see

  • The Golden Bridge - the walkway held by two giant stone hands.
  • The cable car - one of the world's longest, up to the resort.
  • The mountain views - the panorama over the hills and coast.
  • Ba Na Hills - the French-themed village, gardens and attractions.

When to go

February to August for the clearest, driest weather, as the hilltop is often shrouded in cloud and mist, which can hide both the bridge and the views. Go early to beat the crowds, as it is extremely popular and can be packed.

Honest expectations

It is a modern, manufactured attraction rather than a historic sight, and can feel like a theme park; it is also very crowded, so the serene photos take patience to get. The hilltop is often misty, hiding the views. The single ticket covering the cable car and resort is not cheap, but the cable car and bridge are genuinely striking.
