U.S. Space and Rocket Center
A Huntsville museum with a full Saturn V test rocket hung indoors, in the city where the rocket was designed.

Huntsville is where Wernher von Braun's rocket team developed the Saturn V at the Marshall Space Flight Center, and the museum holds SA-500D, the Saturn V Dynamic Test Vehicle, one of the three Saturn Vs on display - about a hundred and ten metres long, hung overhead in the purpose-built Davidson Center, and a National Historic Landmark. A full-scale vertical replica stands outside, visible from the interstate. The collection covers Mercury, Gemini and Apollo hardware, a Space Shuttle stack replica and Army rocketry. Space Camp has run here since 1982 and takes children and adults through simulated missions.

What to expect
It is large and takes longer than expected. Simulators and some experiences cost extra. Summer and school holidays are busy with camp groups. Huntsville is a drive from anywhere else.
