The Amabere ga Nyinamwiru caves near Fort Portal hold stalactites from which a milky white mineral solution drips continuously, and Batooro tradition explains them as the breasts of Nyinamwiru, daughter of a king who had them cut off to make her unmarriageable. A small waterfall falls across the cave mouth, and the site sits within the crater lake field, with a walk up to Nyakasura crater giving views to the Rwenzori.

When to go
June to September and December to February are drier. Mornings are clearest for the Rwenzori view. The cave is wet and slippery in any season.
