Wadkoping

When Orebro cleared its old wooden centre in the 1950s and 60s a number of the houses were taken down and re-erected here in Stadsparken by the river, laid out as a street with a square, and the quarter opened in 1965. The name comes from Hjalmar Bergman's fictional town, since he was from Orebro. It is not a frozen display: there are craft workshops, a bakery, a bookshop and a cafe in the buildings, and some of the flats are lived in. Kungsstugan, the oldest house, dates from the sixteenth century. The park around it runs along the water and joins the town's main green space.

Most shops and workshops close for the winter. The houses are not in their original locations. It is small and quickly walked. Weekend events crowd it.
