Pilane Sculpture Park

The ground at Pilane is an Iron Age grave field - stone circles, standing stones and burial mounds spread over grazed hillside above the sea - and since 2007 an exhibition of large-scale sculpture has been staged across it each summer. The pieces are big and set far apart, so you walk the field to find them, and the sheep that keep the grass down wander among them. Jaume Plensa's tall white head Anna, standing on the ridge, has become the image of the place. Works change each season with some staying longer. There is no building to speak of: a kiosk, a car park, and the hill.

June to September, the exhibition season. Two to three hours.

Practical notes

It closes entirely outside summer. The ground is uneven pasture and wet after rain. There is almost no shelter or facility. Which works are up varies year to year.
