The Vigie and the Pointe du Goéland stand on the coast near Saint-Pierre town, and the marked trail between them runs along the clifftop with the sea below and the bare interior on the other side. The Vigie was the lookout point from which arriving ships were watched for. Seabirds nest on the rock below and the walk is one of the standard local circuits.

When to go
June to September is the walking season. Fog closes the coast in often. Wind on the clifftop is strong most days.
Honest expectations
The cliff edge is unfenced and the wind is strong enough to matter. Fog makes the route harder to follow. There is no shelter along the way.
