Cascade Niagara

Cascade Niagara is on the Rivière Sainte-Suzanne a short way inland from the north coast, a fall of about twenty-five metres dropping in a broad curtain into a pool. The name is a local piece of optimism rather than a comparison that survives contact, but it is easy to reach, the pool below is used for swimming when conditions allow, and the surrounding basalt walls are impressive after heavy rain when the flow multiplies.

When to go

The name sets expectations the fall cannot meet. Flow drops considerably in dry spells. The pool is unsupervised and the river rises fast after rain in the hills.
