Lusail Marina Promenade

Lusail is a city built from nothing on empty coast north of Doha over the last fifteen years, and its marina promenade is the part most worth walking: a curved waterfront with moorings on one side and towers on the other, including the Katara Towers whose two curved forms are taken from the seal of Qatar. The scale is deliberate and the whole thing is very new. Evenings are when it fills.

When to go

November to March is when walking is comfortable through the day. Summer confines use to late evening. Weekends are busiest.

Honest expectations

Large parts of the district are still under construction and the site is noisy in places. There is little to do beyond walking and eating. Summer daytime heat makes the promenade unusable.
