Aspire Park and the Torch

Aspire Park is the largest green space in Doha, laid out around a lake in the Aspire Zone with lawns, planting and paths, and above it stands the Torch, a three hundred metre tower built as the flame for the 2006 Asian Games and afterwards converted into a hotel with a revolving restaurant near the top. The park fills with families in the evenings once the heat drops.

When to go

November to March is when the park is usable through the day. Summer confines any use to late evening. Weekends and evenings are busiest.

Honest expectations

Summer heat makes the park unusable except late at night. The Torch's viewing options run through the hotel and restaurant rather than a public deck. The park is flat and the interest is limited beyond walking.
