Cœur Bouliki

Cœur Bouliki lies at the head of the Rivière Blanche valley above Saint-Joseph, where the road ends and the forest begins, and it is set up as a day site: picnic tables under the trees, marked trails going up the valley and river pools clear and cold enough that people swim in them. The forest here is tall and wet, at the foot of the slopes running up to the Pitons du Carbet, and it is popular with local families.

When to go

December to April is drier and the river is lower. Rain raises the Rivière Blanche quickly. Weekends are busy with local groups.

Honest expectations

The river rises fast after rain upstream and swimming becomes dangerous. The access road is narrow and rough at the end. Facilities are picnic tables and toilets that are often closed.
