Mount Nebo

Mount Nebo is one of the most revered holy sites in Jordan, a ridge overlooking the Jordan Valley where, according to the Bible, Moses stood to gaze upon the Promised Land he would never enter, and where tradition holds he died and was buried. A place of Christian pilgrimage, it is crowned by a memorial church sheltering beautiful ancient Byzantine mosaics, and offers a vast, sweeping view over the Dead Sea, the Jordan Valley and, on a clear day, the Holy Land beyond.
