EntrySmall charge

The cascade at Man drops through a stand of bamboo on the edge of the town, not tall but set in dense green shade with a pool at the bottom, and it is the standard short excursion from Man. The bamboo grows thickly enough to close over the path, and the temperature drops noticeably on the way in. Flow depends on rain: it is strong in the wet months and much reduced by February.

What you actually see

  • The fall - water dropping into a pool in bamboo forest.
  • The bamboo - dense stands closing over the path in.
  • The pool - a basin at the foot of the fall.
  • The shade - a noticeable temperature drop inside the grove.

When to go

June to October, in the rains, gives the strongest flow. November to February is drier and easier for access but the water is reduced. Mornings are quietest.

Honest expectations

The fall is small and by the end of the dry season can be disappointing. The path is slippery and there are steps. Guides and sellers at the entrance can be persistent.

Nearby

Man is a few kilometres away, and the liana bridges are west near Danane.
