Ring of Kerry

The Ring of Kerry is the most celebrated scenic drive in Ireland, a loop of some one hundred and eighty kilometres around the Iveragh peninsula in the south-west, threading mountains, glacial lakes, wild Atlantic coast, colourful villages and ancient sites. It packs much of what people picture as Ireland into a single unforgettable day.

When to go

Late spring to early autumn for the mildest weather and longest light; the drive is beautiful year-round but wetter and darker in winter. Driving anticlockwise avoids meeting the tour coaches head on.
