The Tinkisso falls near Dabola drop over a wide ledge on the Tinkisso river, a tributary of the Niger, spreading across the full width of the rock in the wet season and narrowing to channels in the dry. A small hydroelectric station built here in the colonial period still stands beside the fall and takes part of the flow. The country around is wooded savanna.

When to go
July to October is the wet season and the fall is at its widest. The dry season reduces it to channels. Tracks are worst in the rains.
Honest expectations
Flow is much reduced in the dry season and the hydro takes part of what remains. Photography of the installation is restricted. The track in is rough and there are no facilities.
