Tarzan Falls

Tarzan Falls drops into a pool in central Guam, reached on a trail that runs out across open savanna from the cross-island road and then descends steeply into the valley, taking around forty minutes each way. The savanna section has no shade at all and the descent is on loose red clay. The pool at the base is small but swimmable and the fall runs strongly after rain.

When to go

December to June is the drier season and the clay is firmer. Flow drops noticeably late in the dry season. Rain makes the descent genuinely dangerous.

Good to know

The red clay is extremely slippery when wet and the descent is where people get hurt. There is no shade on the savanna section and water must be carried. Flow can be a trickle late in the dry season.
