Balthazar River Tubing

The Balthazar river runs down from the Grand Etang forest through Grenada's interior, and tubing operators run trips on a stretch of it, floating down through rainforest with a few small rapids and quiet pools between them. Guides go with each group and the trip takes about an hour and a half on the water. It works best when the river is up, which means the wet season rather than the dry.

What you actually see

When to go

June to December is the wet season when flow is best. Dry season levels can be too low to run. Heavy rain cancels trips entirely.

Low water in the dry season cancels or shortens trips regularly. Heavy rain cancels them too, so the window is narrower than it looks. It is booked through operators and cannot be done independently.
